SMART

Valley River Center is committed to promoting literacy, and has partnered with SMART, Start Making A Reader Today. The SMART program provides a venue where elementary aged children are partnered with a volunteer to spend time reading once a week. Giving children the extra one-on-one attention allows them to understand the importance of reading as well as allows them to improve their reading skills in a pressure-free environment at a crucial time during their development.

Healthy Heart and Walking

In partnership with Peace Health Hospital and the Oregon Heart and Vascular Institute, mall walkers can join the Tuesday morning walking program. Walkers log their miles, and receive a T-shirt once their goal is met.

Annual Heart Fair

In honor of National Heart Month, the Annual Heart Fair is held with booths featuring nutritional display, blood pressure checks and educational materials.
